FlightCamera II was developed for space missions requiring single-photon sensitivity in a platform built to survive and operate reliably in orbit.
The camera combines the benefits of two NV15VFR sensors, namely single-photon resolution and high sensitivity, with the reliability of a flight-qualified platform in an ultra-compact, CubeSat-compatible footprint.
The FlightCamera II integrates on-board memory and pre-processing capabilities, handling data directly at the camera level rather than relying on an external system downstream.
By default, the camera offers two optical paths, one for 1-inch optics and one for M12 objectives, allowing it to adapt to a wide range of mission and lens requirements.
Depending on the application, the camera can output raw photon events, intensity images, or both simultaneously.
The camera is well suited for Space Situational Awareness and nighttime Earth Observation, among others.
